Nozzles/Grinding Mills
Scrubber Nozzles – superior chemical and wear resistance of RTZ enables longer service life
Nozzles for Water Jet Machines
Welder and Burner Nozzles – superior heat resistance of alumina improves productivity
Grinding Mill Liners, Agitators, Screws, Rollers - excellent wear resistance of RTZ helps creating less wear debris and therefore less contamination (Kodak and Carestream Health)
Capstan Rollers and Wire Guide Rollers - Wear resistance, corrosion resistance and lighter weight as compared to steel are beneficial to improve productivity
Pump Components
Centrifugal Pump – alumina parts are used for transportation of organic solvents, acids and slurry
Gear Pump – ceramic plain bearings are used for high viscosity, corrosive and abrasive fluids (Kodak)
Micro Pump – RTZ ceramic shafts, gears and other parts for precision delivery of fluids (Kodak)
Cavity Pump – heat and corrosion resistant ceramic rotors and stators
Ball and Faucet Valves - ceramics are used to provide excellent sealing quality and superior wear resistance.
Precision Machine Components
Air Slides for X-Y Tables and Measuring Units - used in semiconductor manufacturing equipment, precision measuring instruments and high precision processing machines
High Precision Gauge Blocks
Air Spindle – lightweight air spindles for rotary tables or coupled with a motor to form turning units. These applications benefit from high rigidity and superior rotational precision of advanced ceramics.
Air Bearings
Oil and Gas Production
Chemical Processing
Power Generation & High Precision Analytical Equipment
Armor/Impact Protection/Utility Equipment
Chemical delivery pumps & plumbing – faucets, valves, etc.
Cutting tools and inserts
Alumina and RTZ ceramics components can be used for thread processing, oiling nozzles, rollers and twining devices. Ceramic wear parts are preferred because of high wear resistance, very low susceptibility to damage (dings and scratch) by high speed running of thread and very low (0.1 to 0.3) coefficient of friction as compared to metal or carbide counterparts.
